Steel Strong Community FCU Scholarship Program

Overview

Steel Strong Community Federal Credit Union proudly supports the educational goals of graduating seniors within our field of membership.

Each year, we award three $1,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to their future.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Steel Strong Community FCU Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a member in good standing of Steel Strong Community FCU.

  • Be a graduating high school senior.

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Be accepted to an accredited college, university, or trade school.

Membership Requirement: Applicants must be members in good standing. Not a member yet? You’re welcome to join when you submit your application.

Membership simply needs to be active before the scholarship deadline. View full membership requiremnts here.

Application Requirements

All applicants must submit:

  • A completed scholarship application form.

  • An original essay responding to the prompt provided.

  • A copy of their high school transcript.

  • A copy of their college, university, or trade school acceptance letter.

Completed applications may be emailed, mailed, or dropped off at either of our branch locations.

2026 Essay topic: Imagine you are on the Board of Directors of a Credit Union. What initiative would you suggest to better support young adults?

Explain how your initiative reflects the “people helping people” philosophy and what long-term impact you hope it would have on your community.

Deadline

All application materials must be received by April 30, 2026.

Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.

Selection Process

A committee appointed by Steel Strong Community FCU will review all eligible applications. Recipients will be selected based on:

  • Academic performance

  • Quality and originality of the essay

  • Overall completeness of the application

Scholarship recipients will be notified directly and announced on our website and social media channels.
