Celebrating Sandy’s 43 Years of Service
Steel Strong Community FCU is honored to celebrate a milestone that few organizations ever experience: the retirement of our long‑time CEO, Sandy Abels, after an extraordinary 43 years of dedicated service.
For more than four decades, Sandy has been a steady, trusted presence for our members and our team. Her leadership, deep industry knowledge, and unwavering commitment to Steel Strong's mission have shaped our credit union in meaningful and lasting ways. Her influence can be felt in the relationships she's built, the culture she's nurtured, and the countless members she has supported throughout her career.
As we celebrate Sandy's remarkable legacy, we are pleased to announce that Denise has stepped into the role of CEO. Denise brings strong operational expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and a clear vision for Steel Strong's future. Please join us in congratulating Sandy on her well‑earned retirement and welcoming Denise as she leads SteelStrong into its next chapter.
